The mean minimum temperature will be in the mid-20s in New Haven, in the upper 20s in the rest of the state, and will drop to its lowest in late October. The forecast for the low to mid 20s is for the low 20s, but we have a chance of a few degrees above average for December 1-3, which means a slight change from the average for this time of year in terms of temperatures.
Connecticut includes most of the Appalachian Trail affected by winter storm Gail. The metropolitan area is followed by the metropolitan areas of New Haven, Hartford, Bridgeport, New York City and Hartford. It all starts with a high in the mid-20s in Hartford and the upper 20s for the rest of Connecticut from December 1 to 3.
The Northeast will see a largely dry week, but a possible low pressure wave developing behind a front brings unsettled weather. No snow is expected next week and it is likely to move in over the next few days, with a slight chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday. The forecast was watered down, however, because of the possibility that a few inches of snow could fall in some areas of the state during the week.
Be prepared: A major winter storm will bring heavy snow, gusty winds and heavy rain to much of New Jersey on Thursday and Friday. Be prepared, expect a mix of rain and snow in parts of the state on Friday and Saturday, with a slight chance of snow on Sunday and Monday, with a high of 9 to 12 inches.
